Babies First Easter

Yes, that's right I said BABIES! Robin and I are officially pregnant again with baby number 2!! We hope to have just two children and really wanted them close in age if possible. We had been trying for about six months and were finally blessed to find out we were pregnant on Valentines day. Yesterday was our second visit to the baby dr. and everything looks great. I am feeling great again, not one day of sickness, but the fatigue seems to be a little worse this go round. I think Landon might have something to do with that because even Robin seems worn out at the end of every day! I am a little over 12 weeks along, and have a due date of October 21, 2010.

Landon's first Easter did not go exactly to plan. On the Saturday before easter we went to a city funded easter egg hunt and of course had to meet the Easter bunny. It was during that photo op that we think Landon contracted pink eye because for the rest of the day his eye would not stop watering. We went to G-ma and G-pa McNeely's that night for dinner and it only got worse. So, on Easter Sunday when he woke up to a crusted over eye, we opted to go to the CareNow clinic instead of church in order to not infect any of the other babies. He got all the necessary med's and it cleared up within a matter of hours! We are thankful it went away so quickly, but it was definitely not how we envisioned him spending his first Easter.

The month of April is only half over, but it has definitely been an eventful one. We FINALLY received an offer on our house which has been on the market since last August! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us. Although that is a blessing, our closing date on the house is April 30, so we really need to get moving, literally! We have been packing a little each weekend, but the my parents will be over to assist with some (most!) of the heavy lifting in a couple of weekends. We have been house hunting and hope to have made a decision on our next house soon. We will be displaced temporarily, living with my parent's in Ft. Worth until we can close on the next house. All of our stuff will go to storage in the interim as well. Its fortunate that we have somewhere to go (that is free!), but both Robin and my commute will be rough, and we have not yet found temporary childcare for Landon. It will all work out, but just some details that have yet to be settled up.

So, after all of that news, it is safe to say we are keeping very busy here in Texas. I keep waiting for things to slow down a bit, but that doesn't seem to happen. We hope all is well with everyone! Love, Brooke, Robin, Landon, and Baby T(2)

Where oh where have we been?!

YIKES! Its been quite a long time since our last posting, but we have a good excuse. Our laptop went out a few weeks ago, needing a hard drive replacement. But now, we've got it all fixed up and we are back in business. So, that leaves us with what have we been up to for the last month, LOTS!

Back in January, Robin competed in the Big-D stair climb, which consists of 52 flights of stairs up one of the tallest office buildings in downtown Dallas, 1040 stairs in all. Over six hundred people competed in the event and Robin finished in the top ten percent! This is quite a feat considering he did NOT train one day for this. He looked quite sick at the finish and exclaimed it was the dumbest thing he had ever done....that was until he saw his time online when we got home, and now he can't wait for the next one.

Landon has experienced a couple of milestones this past month. He celebrated his first valentines day, complete with the exchange of valentines between all the kids in his class at day care. However, this was celebrated a day late, because the Friday before valentines day, the Dallas area metroplex received a record breaking snowfall for the most snow in a single calendar day in history, a whopping 12.5 inches! Needless to say, most schools in the area were canceled for the day.

Most recently, Grandma and Grandpa T came to visit and stay with Landon while Robin and I went to wedding in Las Vegas. Robin's old roommate/co-worker, Mike, got married up on a mountain outside of Vegas in a very picturesque setting, to his beautiful bride Leigh. We went skiing the day before the wedding up on Vegas' only ski resort. It had been nearly a decade since either of us had been skiing, so there was a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, but we had a great time. We were both shocked how fast it wiped us out of energy though! The real story about the trip away is just that, it was our first trip AWAY from Landon. Although we missed seeing his bright smiling face every day, we knew he was in good hands with G-ma and G-pa.

And the BIG updates for Landon physically are he FINALLY has some teeth, three to be exact! The two top front teeth are visible and starting to come down and he has one bottom front tooth visible. He is also getting more comfortable up on his feet. He stands most of the time, and walks everywhere he can, as long as there is something to hold on to. He will only take one or two steps without having a finger to hold or ottoman/couch to grab, but he is getting there. He still won't take his sippy-cup, which means he won't drink juice, but we keep trying.

WARNING: Some pictures may contain snot. Pictures may be disturbing to some observers, just kidding!!

How many times have you written 2009 instead of 2010? I hope we had a great New Year’s Eve and your 2010 is off to a great start. Landon spent New Year’s Eve with grandpa and grandma McNeely while Brooke and I took some friends to dinner and a comedy show at The Improv. Our headliner that night was Jon Reep, the guy who asked “does that thing have a Hemi” in all the Dodge commercials. I had my good friend Billy in town for New Year’s and having him around makes it so much fun. We don’t get to see him as much as we want and if he’s reading this move to Dallas will ya. On Jan. 2nd we went to the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium to watch Oklahoma State play Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl. All I can say is the stadium is truly amazing and can easily see why it cost $1.2 billion.

Landon is growing up before our eyes and has become so mobile. He crawls as little as possible and prefers to stand on two feet. He loves pulling out all the DVD’s in the tv stand and has newly discovered the pots and pans. But not all news is good news. Landon has continued to have a persistent cough and congestion and starting running a fever. We decided to change pediatricians and she prescribed Landon his first antibiotics. He still has a nasty cough but seems to be in much better spirits as of today. At daycare he moved into the Little Lambs class which is from approx. 7 months to 1 years old. He is one of the youngest in his class, but is probably the most active. The ladies at daycare tell us how great of baby he is how he never cries and is Mr. Independent. At home Landon has started to interact more with Munchie, wanting to touch her or steal her toys from her. He also enjoys pushing his face against the glass door in our home and I was lucky enough to get a few pictures of him. He is such an easy to care for baby and has made our lives much easier than we probably expected. That is all we have and please enjoy the pictures!!

Baby's First Christmas

We want to start by saying we hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Landon’s first Christmas was spent at home in Dallas with Grandma and Grandpa McNeely and Brooke’s brother Brandon who flew in from Oklahoma. Landon was very curious about all the presents under the tree and spent plenty of time putting the presents in his mouth and trying to open them. In the weeks prior to Christmas Landon had started to really crawl around the house and also how to pull himself up on the coffee table, etc. We had a great Christmas and as you might expect Landon was spoiled rotten. Between both sets of grandparents along with Brooke and I, Landon got a bunch of new clothes and more toys then we have room for. Shockingly we got snow on Christmas Eve which marked the first white Christmas for the Dallas area in 25 years. On Christmas morning we webcam’d with Grandma and Grandpa which was great. This allowed them to see him open his presents from them and also for Landon to show them how he can scoot and stand up on his own. Have a great and safe New Year’s Eve and look for a new blog update come 2010.
