Happy Halloween

Hope everyone had a great Halloween. This was Landon's first "official" Halloween and had a great time. We went to a Halloween party hosted by our church. Lots of children to play with, Landon got to paint a pumpkin, and got some great pictures taken. We dressed him up as Tigger for the party and he looked so cute. For trick-or-treating he dressed up as a clown. This was not your typical clown outfit. Grandma McNeely saved the clown outfit from Brooke's very first Halloween 30 years ago. To be honest I was a little apprehensive as to how he would look, but the outfit was great. I liked it so much we plan to use it for Leighton next year. Landon helped me carve a pumpkin so it was a nice dad-son bonding experience! Enjoy the pictures...

Finding the perfect pumpkin...

This past weekend we got to spend some much needed time with the McNeely grandparents. They had met Leighton earlier in the week but decided they didn't get enough time together with the kiddos. We don't get to see them nearly enough, so when we do it's a real treat. On Saturday we took Leighton and Landon to a local church who had a pumpkin patch. This was quite exciting for Landon and he proceeded to help select the perfect pumpkin. He even picked out a pumpkin just his size. We can't wait to dress up the kids and take them around the neighborhood for the first time. Landon will be Tigger and Leighton will be in a Halloween themed onesie.

Today I took Landon for a haircut and he did awesome. The past few times he has cried nearly the entire time. Today he sat on my lap like a big boy and just watched all the action and actually seemed to be enjoying it. I sat there thinking how big he is getting and wishing time would slow down a little. Just like all of DFW and Texas, Ranger fever has hit the Tetzlaff household. Over the weekend we went and bought some new Ranger gear and Landon even has some Ranger pajamas. Nobody wants to talk about the Cowboys(which is a nice change)and the city is abuzz about Game 1 tomorrow evening. The normal tickets we buy during the season are now selling for between $650-950 per ticket. Enjoy all the new pictures and we are very excited for Halloween. That reminds me, I have to carve our pumpkin tomorrow!

Happy Halloween & Go Rangers!!!

Leighton Update...

It's hard to believe that Leighton is already 11 days old. She is doing wonderful and continues to eat and sleep well. She goes back to the pediatrician on Thursday for a weight check. We are having a photography session tomorrow at the house for Leighton and cannot wait to see how cute she looks. She is so small that most of the clothes we have were 0-3 months and were way to big for her. So we had to go shopping and get all newborn clothing and they are still a little big. Be parents of two kiddos is really enjoyable and Leighton has been a great baby. Mom is having more success breastfeeding this time and Brooke is already wanting to start working out. P90X here we come! Attached are a few pictures of Leighton and a few of Brooke's fellow coworkers (Autumn, Araceli, Jay).

It's a girl...

On Friday October 15th, 2010 at 8:57am we welcomed to the world a healthy baby girl. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. and measured in at 19.25 inches. When we found out how much she weighed, we proceeded to ask where was the rest of her. Both of us expected a much bigger baby similar to Landon. We had decided on the name a long time ago Leighton Elaine. Brooke had a great delivery and had to push less than 15 minutes. Leighton was born with significant baby acne but it managed to clear itself up shortly after heading home. Our biggest concern about baby #2 was actually Landon's reaction to her. He is a great big brother and is all about his baby sister. He has been so gentle and careful with the baby and has shown her so much attention. He is always waving at her to say hello, petting her like a dog, and when she sleeps in the boppy he lays his head right next to hers. Every morning when he gets downstairs he goes right to the baby to see her. When we are holding her he brings us her blanket, thinking we need to cover her up more. Brooke and I already are getting cabin fever and hope to get outside shortly. Brooke's milk came in two days ago and Leighton has been feeding well. Brooke and I again feel like we hit the "baby jackpot" and have been blessed with two wonderful gifts! Keep checking back at the blog frequently for new pictures in the coming days/weeks.

It's getting close! 26 days to be exact!!

We are getting very close to being parents of two. It seems like yesterday we were creating this blog to keep everyone updated on Landon, how time flies! October 21st can't come soon enough for me and if I hit that date, the Dr. has decided to induce labor on the 22nd, so we are on an official countdown!

Landon still has no clue what the baby bump means. His daycare provider, Regina, now has two babies she is looking after, one almost three months old and one about four and a half months old. We hope these two babies are helping Landon prepare for what he is about to be in for.

Grandma and Grandpa T came down to visit for the Labor Day weekend, and the McNeely Grandparents were also in town the same weekend, so we were able to get a rare photo shoot in with both sets of Grandparents. Its was quite fun and long overdue for some good baby pictures with family. Then Robin and I went to the Dallas Arboretum this week to visit their pumpkin garden...the largest in the world according to them. It is a really beautiful setup with all of the fall colors and something I wanted to do with Landon last year, but the day we chose to go a private event was going on that we were unaware of. Needlesstosay, hopefully we have done our duty on getting some good professional pictures done for a while.

Robin and I both agree it truly is a joy being Landon's parents, we feel very blessed. Of course parenthood has its moments of frustration, but way more often than not we find ourselves laughing and thoroughly entertained by something he is doing. He is talking more and more everyday. Usually it is his own language and baby babble, but so far we are able to distinguish the following words: ball, dog, juice, shoes, more, cheese, duck, fish. Just today we noticed he is doing a lion "roar" which is pretty hilarious. Apparently they are learning animal noises at daycare and he has really picked up on the "roar!"

We had a slow start with getting him in water this summer, but by August we couldn't stop him from jumping in the kiddy pool. He LOVES to be outside and would spend most of his day outside if we let him. Now that it is finally cooling off, it will be easier for us to stay outside and enjoy it with him!

He keeps us very busy and we know it will only get busier here in a few weeks. Stay tuned for the next blog entry which will reveal pictures of the new baby and let everyone know "boy or girl?"

Finally a new posting!!!

Wow we haven't done a posting since May 3rd, Donald Trump would have told us YOU'RE FIRED! Our family is doing well and find ourselves constantly busy. Landon is continuing to grow like a weed and now has 7 teeth. Brooke has continued to feel good the second time around and the baby is measuring slightly ahead of schedule. She now has a decent belly showing and this baby seems to kick and somersault all day long. This time around we found out the gender but have continued to keep it a secret. We started decorating the new nursery and should have it completed in the next few weekends. So what is Landon doing now? Landon is constantly making baby babble but still will not talk. He is very close to saying ball and dog. He will stand and point to Munchie and saw "daw". He now can practically run and lately started just randomly walking backwards. It's quite cute and almost looks like he is doing the moonwalk as a tribute to MJ. He now goes up and down stairs and loves to play peekaboo. He even tries to play with Munchie and he thinks it's so funny. About a month ago he finally started using a sippy cup and has also been learning to feed himself with a spoon and fork. Almost forgot Landon got his first haircut and he looked so handsome!

Back in June we took a family vacation to Michigan for a family wedding. Robin's cousin Ryan got married in Bay City, MI and after the wedding we rented a cottage in Gaylord, MI. Landon got to see a lot of his cousins and finally got to meet Kathy and Paul. We spent the week swimming, water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, and the girls did some shopping. We spent as much time as possible relaxing and enjoying getting away from the heat. Landon enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach but didn't like the water, was a little cold for him! Robin and I teamed up for some fierce family badminton and we held our own. Robin got to play some golf, after all Gaylord, MI has 21 golf courses in the area. It was a wonderful vacation and loved being able to see most of the family and share in Ryan and Courtney's special day. Be sure to check out all the pictures of the trip, cottage, wedding, and additional random pictures.

Thanks for checking out the blog!
